dominant eye
Dominant eye occurs in a photograph when either the left or the right eye is aligned in the middle of the frame. This gives the illusion that the person in the photograph is looking back at you no matter from what direction you are looking at the photograph. I, once again, used family members as subjects for my dominant eye photographs. The headline photograph is not actually a photograph of dominant eyes, it is just a photograph of my daughter’s eyes to prepare the viewer of this page to look for the eyes in the showcase photographs below. The first showcase photograph is of my husband, and it is taken in front of a very dark headboard, so it looks almost like a headshot. I liked the headboard so much that I used it for several of the other “dominant eyes” photographs in the section. The second photograph is of my daughter, Savannah, and her dominant eye photo is taken a little closer on the framing of her face. The third photo is of my son, Nolan, and he using the same headboard used in the first image to capture his dominant eyes. The last photo is my stepson, Andrew, and his dominant eyes are also captured by having him model in front of the dark colored headboard in our house. I really enjoyed capturing dominant eye photographs because it was fun making my family act like models for me.
