about my project website
My project website is a place to showcase my work in my "Digital Photography in Instruction" course at the University of West Georgia. This website will only contain images that I have taken, and most or all of them will be taken with my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge cell phone. My goal is to use my phone, an object that I carry with me all of the time, to take beautiful photographs of all of my surroundings.
This website is composed of nine pages in addition to the home page. Each page will showcase a different project or part of photography. This “About” page provides an overview of this entire project website. The “Creator” page tells a little bit about me and my vision for this project. The “Design Elements” page will showcase four images of each of the seven elements of photography including line, color, space, shape, size, texture, and value. The “Design Principles” page exhibits four images of each of the nine principles of photography including focal point/emphasis, rhythm/pattern, balance, movement, contrast, repetition, alignment, proximity, and unity. The “Photography Basics” page showcases four images of each of “the nine rules for taking the perfect photograph” including the rule of thirds, leading lines, diagonal lines, framing, figures vs. background, fill the frame, dominant eyes, patterns and repetitions, and symmetry. “Funny Visual Stories” showcases a comic strip that I created to teach kids about taking care of our planet. “Visual Storytelling” showcases a photo story that I created about pet adoption and the joys an adopted pet can bring into the owner's life. “Use & Integration of Photography” shows the planning of a professional development workshop that I created about using photo stories in the classroom to increase student engagement. “Reflections: Initial and Final” show my initial reflect after completing project 1 of this course and my final reflection after completing project 5.
I look forward to sharing my photographic journey with you on this website!
